DiscoverMaroc Tech aimed to revolutionize the tourist experience in Morocco by offering a next-generation digital travel guide. Traditional paper guides and existing apps provided static, generic content that failed to meet modern travelers' expectations. The lack of contextualization, absence of personalization, and inability to discover off-the-beaten-path locations were major frustrations. The technical challenge was considerable: integrating augmented reality to enrich visits to historic monuments, developing an AI recommendation engine capable of creating bespoke itineraries based on the traveler's preferences and available time, and producing a professional-quality multilingual audio guide covering the country's major sites.

We developed a native iOS and Android mobile application integrating ARKit and ARCore technology to deliver augmented reality experiences at historic sites: reconstruction of ancient monuments, overlaid contextual information, and educational 3D animations. The AI engine analyzes user preferences, visit history, and location to generate optimized personalized itineraries. A professional audio guide recorded in 6 languages accompanies each geolocated point of interest. Offline mode enables downloading content for cities to be visited. A community system allows travelers to share their discoveries and recommendations, continuously enriching the database.
