The Challenge
Maison Amara, a Moroccan fashion brand blending artisanal tradition with contemporary design, with a catalog of over 800 references (caftans, modern djellabas, ready-to-wear, and accessories), relied solely on social media — primarily Instagram and Facebook — to sell their creations. The ordering process through direct messages was chaotic: customers would message to ask about prices, available sizes, and delivery times, and the 4 community managers spent an average of 3 hours daily answering the same questions. This system resulted in an estimated 35% loss of potential orders, as customers abandoned the process due to response delays. The brand had zero visibility on customer data — no database, no purchase history, no segmentation — making any loyalty or targeted marketing strategy impossible. Inventory was managed manually on Google Sheets, regularly causing overselling (the same item sold to multiple customers) and frustration. The lack of a professional platform severely limited expansion into European and North American markets, where the Moroccan diaspora and oriental fashion enthusiasts represented considerable growth potential. Previous attempts with out-of-the-box solutions (basic Shopify) had failed to convey the brand's premium positioning and lacked the flexibility needed for Moroccan market specifics (cash on delivery, custom sizing).
Our Solution
We created a complete, custom e-commerce ecosystem with a headless Next.js 14 site connected to Shopify via its Storefront API for real-time product, order, and inventory management. The headless architecture provides full control over design and user experience, with smooth animations via Framer Motion and a luxurious design system faithful to the brand identity. The React Native mobile app delivers a native, seamless shopping experience on iOS and Android, with targeted push notifications for new collections, flash sales, and abandoned cart reminders — the latter alone recovering 18% of lost sales. Multi-gateway payment integration combines Stripe for international card and mobile wallet payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay), CMI for Moroccan bank cards, and a cash-on-delivery module with SMS confirmation adapted to local habits. A personalized recommendation engine based on browsing and purchase history, built with collaborative filtering algorithms, increases average order value by 32%. The gamified loyalty program with point system, VIP tiers, and exclusive rewards drives retention. A size customization module lets customers enter their measurements for precise size recommendations. The site is optimized on Cloudflare with a 98/100 Lighthouse score and load times under 1 second. A comprehensive digital marketing strategy including technical SEO, Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns, automated email marketing via Klaviyo, and influencer marketing supports the launch.
